- Daha önce Okumanın Tarihi (2001), Borges'in Evinde (2002), Palmiyelerin Altında Stevenson (2004), Hayali Yerler Sözlüğü (YKY, 2005) ve Okuma Günlüğü (2007) kitaplarını yayımladığımız Alberto Manguel'den yine kitaplar, kütüphaneler, okumak ve yazmak üzerine bir kitap.Geceleyin Kütüphane, George Steiner'in okumaya yazılmış bir aşk mektubu sözleriyle övdüğü Medicis ödüllü Okumanın Tarihi ile aynı gelenekten: Kütüphanelerin uygarlığımızda oynadığı kritik rolün sürükleyici öyküsünü ele alıyor.Yazılı sözün yorulmaz şampiyonu (The Vancouver Sun), sözün saklayıcısı ve kitabın koruyucusu (The Globe and Mail) Alberto Manguel, Fransa'daki evinde kurduğu kütüphaneden yola çıkıyor ve engin hayalgücüyle Eski Mısır'dan Arap dünyasına, Çin'den Roma'ya, yazarların kişisel kütüphanelerinden İnternet'teki kütüphanelere uzanıyor. Mahkumların sözlü kütüp-haneleri, Kont Drakula'nın ve Frankenstein'ın canavarının hayali kütüphaneleri, hatta Borges'in Tlön'ü, H.P. Lovecraft'ın Necronomicon'u gibi yazılmamış kitaplardan oluşan kütüphaneler bile Manguel'in ve kitabının erişim alanında. Daha fazla göster
