SwissMicros Basic DM16L Editorial Review
The DM16L is a great option for those who are looking for a replacement for their original HP calculator. Made by Swiss Micros, this calculator is similar to the financial 12C calculator but has a different functions set. It is RPN only and runs the original ROM, working identical as the HP-16C. The build quality of the calculator is excellent and the serial Console access is super cool. It comes with a pouch and a regular miniUSB cable is needed for the firmware update transfer cable. The DM16L is well-made, durable and delivers fast results. The keyboard has excellent click and feel while the flat design without a slanted second function panel makes it very legible. It is at least equal to the original HP-12C in quality and surpasses the already high expectations from SwissMicros.
