The Notch Jet Step Foot Ascender 41001 is an easy-to-use and efficient product for ascending trees or other objects. This product does not have sharp teeth that can damage the climb line. It is designed to work well with the Sterling Scion line that makes it self-tending and easy to operate. It is made of aluminum and has gears that keep it securely on the rope without slipping. However, it does get hot quickly when used, which may be an issue for some users. This product is not recommended for use as a knee ascender as there is no total knee ascender such as the HAAS that incorporates the Jet Step. The liability would be on the user if they created something that attaches the Jet Step in a way the HAAS or SAKA does. Also, the Notch Jet Step Foot Ascender is not designed for the Gecko tree climbers and may not fit properly. It is suggested that users choose a knee ascender for that purpose.
