The pedal's color is perfect and the housing is solid and strong. The pedal retains the clarity of a single-coil and the crunch of a humbucker without needing adjustments. The Maxon SD-9 is a plug-and-play pedal that works well across different brands and models of amps. It simplifies the entire process of live performances. It has a full-frequency response and touch-responsive for a classic amp-like tone. Although not a high-gain pedal, this pedal will do the job of pushing an already overdriven amp over the top.
