Shaun Evans shines in the titular role, embodying the young Morse with finesse—his portrayal is marked by an impressive blend of intelligence, intensity, and an unwavering determination to unravel complex mysteries. Critics and fans alike appreciate how "Endeavour" not only pays homage to its predecessors but also expands upon the backstory of Morse, answering lingering questions while maintaining respect for the original narrative. The writing and direction have garnered acclaim for their depth and engagement, though some viewers noted that the script could be a bit challenging to follow at times.
