Coming of Age Editorial Review
The Immortalists follows the lives of four siblings who visit a fortune teller when they are children, learning the dates of their deaths. While this premise is interesting, some reviewers felt that it was not fully explored as the story progressed. There were mixed feelings about the characters, with some struggling to connect with them while others found them memorable. The novel is divided into four parts, each focusing on one of the siblings, and some reviewers appreciated how this created separation while still feeling connected. The ending divided opinions, with some finding it unsatisfying while others felt it was thought-provoking. Overall, The Immortalists is a contemplative novel that spans decades and explores life and values.
