Although they are supposed to be sealed and waterproof, experts suggest not submerging them for longer periods of time. The lights have a floodlight beam with a very wide area of illumination around +/- 160 degrees. Most users installed the Rigid Ignite centrally or close to the bumper outside to increase visibility, and it works perfectly. However, one user reported that mounting the light onto a receiver might compromise the receiver's strength. Some users mentioned that they would have preferred to have more precise installation instructions, as the recommended inch and three-quarter holesaw could leave no margin for error. Nevertheless, they suggest using an inch and a half holesaw with stainless sheet metal screws due to their durability.
