Huntdown is a side-scrolling shooter game with 16-style pixel art and 80s synth music soundtrack. The gameplay is smooth, with a duck-and-cover mechanic and challenging levels that are just the right length. The graphics are gorgeous on the OLED Switch, and the performance is excellent, with no frame rate drops in handheld mode. The story is there, but the gameplay is so good that it's easy to get lost in it. It's similar to classic side-scrolling shooters like Contra and Elevator Action Returns. Overall, Huntdown is an excellent retro-style game that is a lot of fun and definitely worth playing.
