- The book, RENNY, by R. A. Chattick Jr., is an uplifting, and enlightening story of a young, Native American boy, who embarks on a quest to find out why a spiritual messenger has enticed him to travel clear across the highline of Montana, in search of answers to a perplexing riddle. Renny Granville is a humble fella', who lives on his grandpa's farm, which lies on the drought-ravaged prairie of western North Dakota. One day, a mysterious messenger coaxes Renny, and his mother, to take their family and head for the land of the Blackfeet. Their journey takes them across the rolling plains of the vast, Montana highline, and eventually, to his mother's birthplace...the small town of Heart Butte, which is nestled in the shadows of the great Rocky Mountains. It is there that the matriarch of Renny's family, Red Antelope Woman, reveals a clue from the past, which further intensifies Renny's desire to find the reason for the messenger's arrival. Join Renny, as he delves into the spiritual realm, and follow him into the past, as Red Antelope Woman's tale transports him back to the time when the Native people hunted the endless herds of buffalo along the wide expanses of the Montana prairie. It was in that distant era, when the trail of clues actually began, but it is the future that young Renny must prepare for. Fighting against personal insecurities, and self doubt, Renny remains diligent, and solves the mystery, which helps him to unlock the key to true happiness.
