- OBDMONSTER Inductive Timing Light is designed for standard base timing with on/off touch control, working with most ignition systems (DIS, conventional, electronic and computer-controlled systems—domestic and import), providing a simple and efficient means to check timing, diagnose a no-spark condition and more. How to use: Clamp the inductive pick-up around the number one spark plug wire. Make sure the arrow on it is facing towards the spark plug. Do not allow the inductive pick-up to touch the exhaust manifold or surrounding parts as these areas become extremely hot and will damage the inductive pick-up. Connect the RED clamp to the positive (+) battery terminal. Connect the BLACK clamp to a secure engine ground such as the alternator bracket or the engine block. For safety reasons, do not use the negative (-) battery terminal or fuel system components as a ground connection point. Will Work on Diesel Engines？ No.Diesel vehicles do not have spark plugs or distributor, so this timing lights will not work on diesel engines Will Work on 6-Volt System？ Yes.On 6-volt electrical systems, use an auxiliary 12-volt battery to power timing light. Connect BLACK clip to negative (-) post and RED clip to positive (+) post on auxiliary 12- volt batter In the actual course of testing, What to do if the Ignition Timing Light can't light up ?
