The Thule Passive Lock Strap is a well-made product that offers a layer of security to prevent theft of bikes attached to the rack. It is easy to use and store and requires some hefty tools to remove the bike. The soft strapping covered cable is several feet longer than needed, but it is not a problem since the spare length can be stored in the trunk. The hockey puck attached to one end keeps it from being pulled out of the trunk. It is plenty long enough to lock the rack through a back door if needed. One customer tried to remove the rack and bike attached to it, but the lock strap did its job, and they were not able to take anything. The customer had to buy a new rack because the thief cut the strap instead of loosening the straps.
